The Area
The whole area is considered to be the heart of
the Cape Floral Kingdom. It contains more than 1600 species of fynbos and it is
part of Southern Africa's first internationally recognized Biosphere Nature
Reserve, known as "Koggelberg".
Attractions
Well known to regular visitors,
is the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens, with it's indigenous flowers
and it's eye-catching waterfalls, situated at the Disa- and Leopard Kloofs.
During December and January the very well known Betty's Bay Disa Orchids
are in flower.
Also available to visitors are several untouched sandy
beaches, fresh water lakes, a coastal marine reserve and a colony of African
Jackass Penquins all within walking distance from Peter's Place.
Visitors will enjoy the magnificent views of the sea and mountains all
around. Cape Otters, Seals, Dolphins and Southern Right Whales are often sighted
just off-shore.
Heaven for the outdoor enthusiast: with bird watching,
swimming, canoeing, surfing, diving, fishing, white water rafting, various walks
and trails, all enjoyed in the Betty's Bay and the Kleinmond area.
Peter's Place is ideally situated for exploration of the Overberg, the
Breede River Valley, the Helderberg Region and the Cape Peninsula. A great
variety of wines can be tasted in numerous wine cellars located in the
above-mentioned regions.
The House
The house is smartly decorated. It has an
atmosphere of home-from-home with views of the sea and the mountains. The garden
is wild but well-kept. Peter's Place is well known for it's splended breakfasts
served daily according to the choices of our guests. Dinners can be provided on
special request.
Two furnished units, each with 2 bedrooms and en suite
bathroom facilities, are available. One of the units can also be utilised for
self-catering.
Other facilities contain complimentary tea and coffee,
DSTV (Satelite tv) in the main lounge and large variety of reading material.

The Host
Peter's Place is accredited/approved by Satour, AA Self-Catering Getaways,
Roger and Kay's Travel Selection, Where to Stay in the Overberg, Braby's Maps
and the Sleepover Accommodation Guide. We are conversant in Afrikaans and
English with a good understanding knowledge of German. No pets are allowed. We
could be of assistance with further travel arrangements and relevant advice. It
is our aim to make your stay at Peter's Place a relaxed home-from-home
experience
Rates
Rates quoted are per person sharing and inclusive of breakfast. � Rates for
the winter period (1 May - 31 Oct) are R150. � Rates for the high season (1 Nov
- 30 Apr ) are R175. � Single persons occupying a room - rates on request. �
Children under the age of 8 receive 50% discount. � Rates downscale for longer
stays and block bookings. � Self-catering units at R125 pp throughout the year.
Directions
One hour's drive from Cape Town International
Airport: take a leisurely drive along the N2 freeway, proceed on the R44,
enjoying the exquisite views along the coastal drive until you reach Betty's
Bay.
Approaching from the Cape Town end on the R44, turn off right on
the first road: Porter Drive, then follow the road signs. Approaching from the
Kleinmond end on the R44, you have to pass The Harold Porter Botanic Gardens
until you reach Porter Drive on your Left. You will have the Whaling Station
Restaurant on your right-hand side. Simply follow the road signs to Peter's
Place. The house is situated in Wallers Way and is duly sign-posted
General
To make a reservation, please note the following:
- A fee equivalent
to 50 % of the total amount is required on the booking date.
- The booking
is confirmed after having received a faxed copy of the deposit slip.
- At
the moment credit cards are not accepted, only cash or bank guaranteed cheques.
Cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancellation less than 7 days
prior = forfeit full deposit.
....7-14 days prior = forfeit 75 % of the
deposit.
....14-21 days prior = forfeit 50 % of the deposit.
....21-28
days prior = forfeit 25 % of the deposit.
