The Clarendon

The Clarendon has all the elegance, charm and sophisticated comfort you could wish for in a luxurious guest house. Ideally located in the heart of the prime residential suburb of Fresnaye, it lies between the slopes of Lions Head mountain and the beachfront. Cape Town's famous Clifton beaches and the V&A Waterfront are just a few minutes' drive away.

We have on-site security parking and a shuttle service is available should you need it. The Clarendon, with it's ideal location, is particularly well suited to travellers who like to be close to where the action is, yet far from the madding crowd.

Rooms

All the rooms have direct dial telephones, digital safes, satellite television, mini bars, airconditioning, and twin or king-size beds. Each of the seven spacious en-suite bedrooms have either a sea or mountain view, and are designed and decorated in individual style, combining thoughtful detail with luxurious understated quality.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the sunny dining room or on the terrace, overlooking a plant-filled garden. Spend the day visiting the Cape Peninsula's many attractions or relax next to the sparkling pool at The Clarendon, with coffee and cake served throughout the day.

Owner

Owner, Shirley Lipshitz, is actively involved and her personable manner has made this special guesthouse a popular stopover not only for overseas visitors, but also for locals who know what it means to be pampered with Cape hospitality.

Directions

From Cape Town International Airport, take the N2 towards the City. At the end of the freeway follow the M6 to Sea Point. Keep straight until you reach Church Street. Turn left into Church Street. Travel through one set of traffic lights, turn sharply to the right into Kloof Road. Turn left into Avenue la Croix to enter The Clarendon.
