Oudtshoorn is considered to be the ostrich
capital of the world. Ostrich palaces dating back to the 19th century are a
definite must. One can visit one of the many ostrich show farms which are open
whole year round. The world famous Cango Caves are situated 30 km from
Oudtshoorn. The Swarbergpass and Meiringspoort are a real must from extreme
beautiful scenery. The pass is a national monument built in the earlier days by
prisoners.
