With origins dating to the mid 1800's, this beautifully restored and extended Cape Dutch house is the epitome of Karoo hospitality, elegance and history. Arriving via the awe-inspiring and internationally famous Swartberg Pass, or scenic Meiringspoort, you are enfolded in tranquility. Accommodation

The eight large bedrooms, en-suite rooms are uniquely decorated with antiques, fine linen and all the accouterment to make your stay memorable. Set in verdant lawns and gardens with swimming pool, De Bergkant Lodge breathes "welcome home". The poolside dining room is available for breakfasts, lunches and dinners - Alfresco, barbequed or lavishly formal. There are mysterious delights to be discovered within the grounds, including the "star baths" in the secret garden and the herbal hot water pool.
