Windswael Whale Inn

Vermont is a small seaside holiday resort of adjoining Onrus, only ten minutes from Hermanus. Literally on the beach is the delightful Windswael, a modern klinker brick home offering a friendly and informal atmosphere. Your host, Thea, has used her artistic flair to create a trendy vibe and offers en-suite double bedrooms each with its own private entrance.

Open-plan living, picture windows frame the sea, so that guest can watch the whales in winter. Thea cooks up an excellent leisurely breakfast. There are also fine restaurants nearby. Bar and braai area available.

Facilities

The guest house has a total of 3 luxury en suite bedrooms, each with its own entrance leading on to a sheltered private patio where guests can enjoy their own cooked lunches or dinner. Centralised internet access, email, fax and telephone facilities are available.

Activities

One of the highlights that causes a stir along the entire coast is the arrival of the whales in June each year. Specialty activities offered include meanders through prime fynbos areas, bird watching trips, hiking, and of course, lazing the days away next to the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic.

Thea will gladly arrange picnic baskets and advise you on the charming walks and hikes in the surrounding foothills where you can experience fynbos and bird-life in abundance.

Windswael: 36 Marine Drive, Vermont, Hermanus.
