Set in the picturesque wine-producing valley of Franschhoek, the Franschhoek
Country House offers luxury and indulgence. This restored manor house and former
perfumery dating back to 1890 is situated on the outskirts of the village,
surrounded by enchanting vineyards and majestic mountains.
Accommodation
The Country House offers 14 luxury rooms
including 2 colonial honeymoon suites and two garden suites. All the rooms offer
features like hand-crafted furniture, pure cotton linen and overhead fans. Some
rooms have satellite TV, fire places, under carpet heating and most lead out
onto balconies or private patios.
A complimentary sherry can be enjoyed in one of
the guest lounges alongside a crackling log-fire, creating a welcoming
atmosphere in winter. Attention to detail and friendly personal service complete
your experience at this fine country retreat. Time can be spent next to the
fountain terrace or by the swimming pool.
Dining
The famous Monneaux restaurant has become known
for it�s innovative Modern French Cuisine, prepared with fresh, well sourced
ingredients and is exquisitely presented. � la cart� lunches are served in the
tranquil gardens whilst dinner is served in the understated, yet elegant dining
room or enclosed veranda. The wine list emphasises local wines which can also be
enjoyed by the glass in the cosy wine bar.
The Franschhoek Country House
also caters for small executive conferences. The boardroom appointed with a
Victoria Mahogany table seats up to 18 delegates and offers standard conference
equipment.
