Palmiet Valley Estate
Palmiet Valley Estate nestles at the foot of the
Drakenstein Mountains near Paarl. Built in 1692, this historic homestead has
been carefully restored to its former Cape Dutch glory. The estate offers peace
and tranquility for those who demand the best things in life.
Accommodation
Palmiet Valley's philosophy of hospitality
expresses itself in a luxurious environment where personal attention and care
for your well being as much as for your leisure's is the major accomplishment.
The spacious bedrooms are all individually furnished with valuable antiques,
flowers and port wine. Each bedroom has a CD Player and a safe, and a TV is
available on request. Each room has its own luxurious en-suite
bathroom.
Dining
The Master Chef takes pride in creating delicious
farm fresh daily menus that are served with pleasure in the 18th Century Fine
Dining Room, in the cool shade beneath the Jacaranda or on the Herb Garden
Terrace. The cellar boasts an extensive selection of the best wines of the
region, as well as the fine Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin, Shiraz and
Merlot wines produced on the estate. From the large terrace and pool, guests may
enjoy views over the valley and surrounding wine lands, against a backdrop of
magnificent mountains.
Activities
The estate is surrounded by a wealth of outdoor
activities, including championship golf courses, the Drakenstein Mountain
Reserve, breathtaking mountain walking, clay pigeon shooting, horseback riding
and, of course, wine tasting.
