Eikendal Lodge, which opened in 1998, gives you the rare opportunity of staying
in the heart of the vineyards, at one of the Cape�s leading wine farms, situated
on the slopes of picturesque Helderberg Mountain. Tranquility is the keynote
here, although the wine centres of Stellenbosch and Somerset West are
conveniently close.
Accommodation
A charming conversion from a cluster of old farm buildings, Eikendal Lodge
offers luxurious accommodation in nine spacious en-suite bedrooms, with terraces
opening directly onto the vineyards. Each room is individually decorated and
appointed with satellite television, direct telephone, safe, fridge, and
tea/coffee-making facilities.
Buffet breakfasts are served on the patio next to the sparkling swimming pool,
or in the Lodge dining room. Stroll down to Eikendal Vineyards cellar for a
light lunch in the garden, or explore the menus of several excellent restaurants
nearby.
A unique bonus for guests at harvest-time is a chance to participate in the
grape-picking and thereafter to see at close quarters "your" grapes beginning
their journey towards our award-winning wines in the pressing cellar, under the
guidance of our winemakers.
Other activities available include golf, hiking in the nearby Hottentots Holland
Mountains Nature Reserve and mountain-biking. Surf-swimming enthusiast will
revel in the sweeping, safe beaches of False Bay, only ten minutes away.
