DORING RIVER WHITE RAFTING EXPERIENCE

Dynamic is definitely the only way to describe the Doring River that carves its way through the rugged Swartruggens & Cedarberg mountains on it's way to joining the Oliphants River - providing some of the best White Water in the Cape.
Experience the thrill of rapids such as Aquaphobia, House, Krans. Island Letterbox and Fathers & Sons. Take in the beauty and splendor of this pristine environment with it's perfectly preserved Bushman/San Rock paintings.

DESCRIPTION

2 to 4 day guided White Water Rafting trips (weekends or midweek) approximately 3 hour drive from Cape Town. Our season runs from early June until end September, this is sometimes extended depending on winter rainfall.

VELDDRIF NATURE RESERVE

An hour and a half drive from Cape Town, takes you along the West Coast, through some of South Africa's best kept secrets. Driving past towns like Yserfontein, Langebaan, Saldanha and through to Velddrif, enjoying idyllic bays like - Stompneus Bay, Slipper Bay, Paternoster and Cape Columbine, where you can see whales and dolphins at play.
Situated at the mouth of the Berg River, Velddrif is famous for it's history of fishermen, guesthouses and the famous bird sanctuary of the Rocher Pan. Names like "Laaiplek" "Bokkom Alley" and "Driftwater", signpost well known jetties.
Mention Velddrif to bird lovers and they'll twitch with joy about the Berg River sanctuary which draws migrant Waders and Flamingos by their thousands. Other well-known birds to look out for are Pelicans, Cormorants, Kingfishers, Herons, Ibis, Schrikes and Avocets. All in all, the Velddrif Bird Sanctuary boasts +- 240 species of birds.

ITINERARY FOR THE DAY TRIP

Arrive at our meeting spot at 10h00 to be welcomed by our qualified guides where you will enjoy a continental breakfast at the Port Owen Bistro.
Board our charter boats, or, for the more energetic, our 2-man kayaks, for a trip up the river into the sanctuary, through the tidal wetlands of the Berg River and enjoy the tranquility and spectacular vista.
We break for a gourmet lunch and wine tasting on the banks of the river, or just stay on board the boats, whatever pleases. For the more adventurous, a 9-meter bridge jump is a must.
After your lunch and generally relaxing, we make our way back to the start and wish you all a safe journey home at +- 4.30 - 5 pm.
