South-African-produced wines have always
been held in high regard around the world, with the
Cape wine country region being the cradle of this industry. The climate
of the Cape is unique in Africa, it is a Mediterranean
climate - meaning that it has warm dry summers and experiences
its rainfall during the mild winter months, perfect
for wine makers.
Wine making has a rich and long history in the Cape,
with the first European settlers attempting to produce
wine in the 1600's. In 1688 French Huguenots
settled in the Cape and brought their expertise in viniculture
with them. This boosted the efforts of the Dutch farmers
and the region has never looked back.

wine tasting and cellar tours,
