Beyond the Rainbow Curtain Tour
This tour is a cross-cultural voyage of discovery into the
many facets of South African Society. This tour is completely interactive and
encompasses the history of the lives and development of the disadvantaged
communities in Cape Town, dating back to 1652. The tour begins in "District Six"
including the District Six Museum. We then continue on to the townships of Langa
& Khayelitsha, Cape Town's largest informal settlement area.
Walking Tour of the Malay Quarter
The Malay Quarter is home to a large segment of the Capes
Malay (Muslim) population. The original immigrants (slaves, political exiles)
spoke a language called Malayu and thus their descendants have become known as
the Cape Malays. The Malay population has made a significant contribution to the
development of South African society, especially to its language and cuisine.
If you have come to see the new South Africa, this tour is a must !
