Doodles Beachfront
The quirky name �Doodles� was inspired by owner Karen van Wyk�s habit of
doodling, and the name has become synonomous with good food, great views and the
sort of atmosphere that has locals returning to this establishment time and time
again. Wonderful sea and mountain views ensures that Doodles remains one of the
most popular beachfront restaurants in Table View, and at weekends a vacant
outside table is hard to find as regular diners arrive early, eager to enjoy a
leisurely breakfast or a relaxing lunch.
The evening ambience is enhanced by live music three nights of the week. On
Monday evenings listen to mellow acoustics, Tuesday evenings John draws the
crowds with a very professional repertoire, and Francois, the Rock Legend, gives
a first class performance on Sunday evenings. Whether you feel like seafood,
steak or something light but appetizing, the extensive menu caters for all
tastes. The seafood is particularly good, and Doodles has earned a reputation
for serving the best calamari on the West Coast. For meat lovers, the succulent,
juicy spareribs are highly recommended, and judging by their popularity the
praise is justified.
