The Green Dolphin is dedicated to the nurturing
and continuation of a spirit and an ambiance that is uniquely Cape Town's. For
we are more than a sophisticated waterfront restaurant redolent with the
maritime past of a great seaport; we are South Africa's only centre devoted
seriously to the performance of that finest of all man's melodic creations -
jazz.
Since we first opened our doors in 1990 we have had live jazz
every nite, that amounts up to over 4165 performances. The Green Dolphin plays a
major part in the preservation of jazz, and now boasts a three volume CD
collection. As well as showcasing our local and national talent the Green
Dolphin has also played host to such luminaries at Herb Ellis, Natalie Cole and
Jim Galloway.
