Khaya-nyama
Set in a rural cave setting, we are a restaurant specializing in the foods of
East, South, West and North Africa as well as some of the East coast islands.
There is a strong emphasis on the game meats such as Eland, warthog, gemsbok,
springbok, ostrich, S.W.A. lamb, etc. We also specialise in food such as fish,
chicken and prawns, etc. All these are prepared in the unique African style.
South African food is also considered with Dutch, Huguenot and Malay influences.
Africa has had a medley of influences in the history of her cooking and it is
the only aspect of her heritage which remains that can unite us all. The
following is a quote of Laurence Ven Der Post's : "first catch your Eland", and
I think it just about sums it all up.....!
