Kosmos Taverna
The blue and white frontage of this popular Claremont restaurant is certainly
deceptive. Stepping through the front door you will be surprised at how spacious
the interior is, and on a typical evening you will be lucky to find a spare
table. The reason for this is quite simple - where else can you find such a wide
selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes, laid out buffet-style, where
patrons can help themselves to all they can eat for R55!
The restaurant is attractively decorated in warm earthy shades with gay
tablecloths, and Greek music enhances the festive atmosphere. To compliment the
Mediterranean flavour of your meal, the well-stocked bar offers both Retsina and
Ouzo. Whilst the restaurant is large, it is certainly not lacking in atmosphere,
and a corner fireplace ensures a warm and cosy ambience during the winter
months. Congenial host, Costa Peroglou, whose family are well known amongst the
local Greek community, is always on hand to greet diners personally and to
explain the tempting selection of Mediterranean delicacies to those unfamiliar
with this type of cuisine
