Restaurant, behind Cape Town's Mount Nelson. Master Chef Thomas Sinn who made
Buitenverwachting famous has taken over the reins of this well known historic
building. Recently acquired and refurbished, the house is known today and much
admired for it's well proportioned frontage, elegant interior and delicate
timber latticed verandah.
The particularly fine teak facade sashes, internal folding shutters, winding
staircase, fireplaces and old lath and plaster ceilings are typical of this fine
19th century house. A menu to suit all nationalities of the palate, savour
dishes like Shrimp ravioli in a Rock Lobster Bisque, Loin of Springbok in Puff
Pastry with a Port Wino Jus, Deep-fried Lemongrass Ice Cream served on a Berry
Ragout. Match your meal with wine from an extensive, well-chosen list.
