La Verona

Originally a farmhouse on a large tract of land, La Verona Restaurant was established some eleven years ago, and now stands as a reminder to days gone by amidst the ever increasing urban sprawl of Durbanville which surrounds the property. The large garden provides a haven of tranquillity with its resident family of peacocks, and there is plenty of outside seating to enjoy al fresco dining. It is shady and secluded and therefore an ideal venue for garden weddings especially in the summer months. To the left of the main entrance is the cosy pub which serves as a smoking area for the restaurant. Furnished with comfy leather chairs and lucky enough to have two fireplaces, it is soon to be converted into a comfortable cigar lounge, for those who enjoy a good cigar and brandy to round off their meal.

The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of room between tables which are laid with crisp white napery and smart tableware. Attractive candlebras, elegant drapes and eye-catching floral arrangements give the interior a gracious, timeless look which is formal yet comfortable. Adjoining the restaurant is a separate function room (with an attractive draped ceiling) which can accommodate 150 seated, and has a separate dance and bar area. Large sliding doors lead onto the garden and can be opened during the warm weather to ensure guests remain cool and comfortable.
