The recently opened Butchers Grill House has taken Hout Bay by storm and booking is definitely recommended to avoid disappointment, as most evenings the restaurant is full to capacity. Prominently situated on Victoria Avenue, the Butchers Grill House is fortunate to have a spacious outdoor seating area sheltered by a graceful 100 year old milkwood tree. In the summer months diners can enjoy an idyllic Saturday lunch, where they can not only choose their own steak from the display fridge, but cook it as well (if they wish) on the outdoor fire!

The interior of the restaurant is tastefully furnished with the emphasis on natural wood, coupled with an impressive array of wine bottles, whilst the walls display interesting photographs from the Hout Bay museum, some of which date back to the nineteenth century. Pride of place is given to the large meat display fridge, which as mentioned earlier gives diners the opportunity to make their own selection and watch the Chef expertly cut it on the butcher's block.
