The Post Tree Restaurant

Tucked away in a quiet side street, with a quaint unpretentious exterior, is The Post Tree Restaurant. This wonderful establishment is housed in what was once a church and built at the end of the 19th century, and it is now a national monument. Much of the interior has been carefully preserved with the original wooden ceilings, floors and stone walls in order to retain as much character as possible. Owners Jeandr and Teodora Smuts have enhanced the old-fashioned ambience with the addition of a family collection of original paintings by well known artists (including the renowned Tinus de Jongh) some of which are over 100 years old.

Established for 12 years now, the restaurant continues to delight diners from all over the world, who return time and again to sample the first-class culinary skills of Chef/Patron Jeandr. His professional training and years of overseas experience are clearly evident in the range of exciting dishes he continues to produce, and the continental menu is large with over 70 dishes to choose from.
