The Cuckoo Tree
With its appealing cottagey exterior and whimsical name, The Cuckoo Tree
attracts a steady stream of patrons come rain or shine. On cold winter days the
cosy charming interior provides a welcome respite from the outside elements, and
in the summer months regulars and visitors alike head for the sheltered terrace
and enjoy al fresco dining beneath the majestic "Cuckoo Tree".
Breakfast is served from 09h00 onwards and besides the usual eggs and bacon
variations, The Cuckoo Tree serves delicious omelettes with a combination of
fillings - try the herbs, mushrooms and tomatoes for a Mediterranean start to
the day. The lunch menu offers something for everyone and popular choices
include the Cajun Potato Skins and the South African Special of the Day which
could be chicken casserole, bobotie or lasagne served with rice, pasta or
Craig's special pumpkin fritters. A small but well planned dinner menu includes
an excellent Spinach Salad and an impressive Rack of Lamb with Green Peppercorn
Sauce.
