Polfyntjies
South Africa is a melting pot of cultures, races, languages and traditions. And
its this melting pot that inspired the food youll enjoy at Polfyntjies
Traditional South African Restaurant. The product of Afrikaans, British, Dutch,
Malay, African and a host of local cultures. Polfyntjies has taken the large
steel potjie (cooking pot in which all ingredients are blended) as its symbol.
In 1963, the famed and much-loved Afrikaans poet and writer, C.Louis
Leipoldt, wrote a number of articles on cooking the traditional South African
way. A book containing these articles was later published, titled "Small
Souvenirs for the Taste Buds". And once youve experienced a meal at our
Restaurant, youll realise why we felt this special eatery deserved the name
"Polfyntjies".
