Le Pommier Restaurant is as much part of Stellenbosch history as the national monument in which it is housed and its distinctive French name is a reminder that the part of the farm on which it stands was once a flourishing apple orchard. Nestled amongst the vineyards at the foot of the Simonsberg, the setting offers a fine dining experience with glorious mountain views. New owners Sandie and Delarey Brugman have brought new ideas and welcome improvements to the existing restaurant, such as the Fine Wine shop which boasts carefully selected exclusive wines, including the farm's own Le Pommier range.

The interior has been carefully renovated to achieve a lighter and brighter more sophisticated d�cor in soothing natural colours. Table settings are elegant with crisp white linen and fragrant arrangements of home-grown roses. Leading off the main section of the restaurant are various smaller rooms which are perfect for a more intimate dining experience or small function. An important feature worth mentioning, is that each of these rooms has its own fireplace, to ensure that on cool winter evenings the interior is warm and cosy. The shaded front verandah, which overlooks a pretty lavender and rose garden, has plenty of tables for enjoying a late breakfast or leisurely lunch on balmy summer afternoons. In front of the wine shop, additional tables have been laid out on the patio in preparation for the weekend braais which will commence in November and continue throughout the summer.
